A Transformational Opportunity

Last October, then-President Joe Biden and Gov. We Moore visited the Port of Baltimore to announce that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) had awarded the Maryland Port Administration (MPA) two grants for a total of $147 million through its Clean Ports Program, created under President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act.

CALSTART will be working with MPA to support a steady increase in the adoption of zero-emission vehicles and equipment over the lifetime of the grant.

“The first way we’ll do that is by administering a voucher incentive program for zero-emission vehicles and equipment,” said Jordan Stutt, Senior Director, Northeast Region. “Through the program, companies serving the Port will receive vouchers to heavily discount the purchase price for zero-emission drayage trucks, terminal tractors, EV chargers and other qualified equipment.”
